PPP INFO DAY ON FOF AND EEB
Enterprise Ireland Info day on the EU funding initiatives of Energy Efficient Buildings EeB and Factories of the Future FoF. Framework Programme 7

The info-day will introduce the new European Initiative on Research and Development (R&D) for Energy Efficient Buildings (EeB) and Factories of the Future (FoF) for companies and academics. The PPPs represent a powerful means of boosting research efforts in these large industrial sectors – construction and manufacturing – which have been particularly affected by the economic downturn and where innovation can significantly contribute towards a more green and sustainable economy. This initiative is funded under the ‘Framework Programme 7′ with €1bn and €1.2bn of funding from 2010-2013 respectively. The workshop will provide guidance and information regarding how to get involved with these European R&D funded projects to develop and grow your business both nationally and internationally.
Funded project areas for the programme in EeB will include:
- Materials for new energy efficient buildings
- Efficient solutions for energy generation and storage related to space heating and domestic hot water
- Energy saving solutions for retrofitting
- ICT-based management and intelligent control systems
- Technologies for monitoring and controlling indoor environment.
- Demonstration of very low energy new buildings.
Funded project areas for the programme in FoF will include:
- Eco-Factories – cleaner and more resource production in Manufacturing.
- Cooperative machines and open architecture control systems.
- Robots for automation of post production and other auxiliary processes.
- High tech solutions in the production processes for customised green, safe and healthy consumer products.
- Towards zero-defect manufacturing.
- Manufacturing chains for nano-phased components and coatings.
- Smart Factories: ICT for agile and environmentally friendly manufacturing.
Speakers and participants will include representatives from:
European SME’s and Multinationals who have been involved with EeB proposals – invited speaker ( Mr Eoin Bamburi – R&D Crospon Ltd, Galway)
Representatives from the European Union and the Energy Efficient Buildings Technology Platform (E2B), Dr Lorenzo Valles – Head of Unit FP7 Manufacturing and PPP initiative (Industrial Technologies, NMP – DG Research).
Key development agencies such as Science Foundation Ireland (SFI), Enterprise Ireland (EI), Sustainable Energy Ireland (SEI), and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). FP7 Irish National Contact Points and Delegates in related areas, Environment, Energy, NMP and ICT.
